Level of Care
Outpatient Mental Health Treatment in Conyers, GA
Our outpatient program provides ongoing mental health and substance use support for adolescents and adults who can safely remain in their homes and communities while receiving treatment.
Care that fits around your week
Outpatient treatment is the most flexible level of care we offer. Clients typically attend one or more scheduled sessions each week and continue with school, work, parenting, and everything else their life asks of them. For many people, this is where treatment begins. For others, it is where treatment continues after a more intensive program has done its work.
Outpatient care may be appropriate for individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, mood disorders, family conflict, behavioral concerns, substance misuse, or difficulty managing daily responsibilities. It suits people whose symptoms are distressing and disruptive but who are safe at home and able to participate in scheduled treatment.
Virtual sessions available when clinically appropriate.
Outpatient services may include:
- Individual therapy
- Family therapy
- Group counseling
- Psychiatric evaluations
- Medication management
- Substance use assessments
- Relapse-prevention planning
- Care coordination
- Discharge and aftercare planning
What to expect
Every client begins with a clinical assessment. A member of our team reviews your current symptoms, history, safety needs, support systems, and personal goals, then recommends a level of care and a starting plan. If outpatient care is the right fit, you and your clinician agree on a schedule and a set of goals that are specific enough to measure.
From there, sessions focus on understanding what is driving the difficulty, practicing concrete skills, and applying those skills between appointments. Progress is reviewed regularly, and the plan is adjusted as things change. If your needs increase, we can step you up to our Intensive Outpatient Program. If your needs decrease, we plan a thoughtful reduction in frequency rather than an abrupt stop.
Working with the rest of your care
Outpatient treatment works best when it is connected to the other people involved in your life and your health. With your written permission, we coordinate with primary care providers, psychiatrists, schools, and community organizations so that everyone supporting you is working from the same plan.
We treat family involvement as a clinical tool, not a formality. For adolescents in particular, parents and caregivers are usually part of the work. For adults, family or partner sessions are available when they serve your goals.
Our programs are not an emergency service. Individuals who need detoxification, inpatient hospitalization, residential treatment, emergency medical care, or continuous supervision will be referred to a more appropriate level of care.
